What is Artknit Studios?

Artknit Studios was founded in 2018 with a clear purpose: to inspire and educate its community toward conscious consumption. From day one, it has supported Italian micro-manufacturing companies and collaborated with them to create high-quality products that are completely natural and biodegradable.

Thanks to a short and transparent supply chain, it is able to combine Italian craftsmanship with the finest raw materials while keeping prices lower than traditional luxury brands.

The essential design of Artknit Studios represents the perfect balance between aesthetics and sustainability, and reflects its commitment to promoting change towards a better future, one knit at a time.

Where are you based?

We're based in Biella, northern Italy, in the heart of the Italian wool valley where many of the most renowned spinning mills in the world have their roots.

Do you have any physical stores?

Yes, you can find us in Via Metastasio 1, in Milan.

We're open every day with the following opening hours:

What does it mean to be B Corp certified?

In May 2023 we achieved the B Corp certification through a deep evaluation of our commitment to transparency, social and environmental impact. You can find out more about the certification here.

Why do you consider yourself sustainable?

Our approach to sustainability is based on firm principles:

The exclusive use of natural fibers, which biodegrade faster than synthetic fibers and do not release microplastics.

A short, traced supply chain, supporting the Italian artisan ecosystem and sourcing only from certified spinning mills that guarantee the origin, quality and environmental responsibility of the raw material.

Creating long-lasting pieces with timeless designs that don't follow any fashions or trends.

Orders & Payments

Is it safe to order from artknit-studios.com?

Yes, artknit-studios.com is a safe website.


Our digital payment methods are traced and secure.


Your personal data will be treated in agreement with current legislation on privacy.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept debit/credit cards, ApplePay, ShopPay, GooglePay and PayPal.

You can also pay by installments with Scalapay directly from our website. You can quickly create an account while checking out and pay your item in three monthly installments without interest.

How do I redeem a coupon code?

You can redeem your coupon by writing the code in the provided box during checkout.

For your welcome coupon code, you can only use it for your first order with the purchase of any item.

Can I pay my order in installments?

Yes, you can pay by three monthly installments with Scalapay, directly from our website.

You'll be redirected to the Scalapay website to quickly create an account and proceed with the payment of the first installment.

If you'd like to return an item that you are paying in installments, part of your refund will be deducted from your second and third installments.

If you paid in three installments with PayPal, since it's a service that it's not integrated into our website, we invite you to read their refund policy or to contact directly PayPal.

Can I purchase a gift card?

Yes, our gift cards are available in different amounts (from 50€ to 500€) and can be used in multiple tranches until the credit is exhausted.

After the purchase, you will receive an email with a coupon code valid for one year.

How can I change the currency?

You can change the currency by selecting it on the footer of any page of our website.

We ship worldwide, but keep in mind that the final price might change according to where you want to receive your item.

If you are in the EU or in the UK, VAT will be automatically calculated at checkout.

If you want to receive your item elsewhere, you'll receive an invoice to pay VAT and customs duties after receiving the package.

How can I request an invoice?

You can tell us that you need an invoice by writing us a note in the provided box in the cart page.

You can then specify your desired billing address during checkout.

If you've already placed an order and need an invoice, you can write us at hello@artknit-studios.com with your order number, your name and your billing address.

How can I pay with a gift card?

You can redeem your gift card credit by writing the code in the provided box during checkout.

The import will be automatically deducted from the gift card's credit until it's exhausted.

Can I pay by bank transfer or cash on delivery?

You unfortunately cannot pay by bank transfer or cash on delivery, but we accept many others digital and secure payment methods: debit/credit card, ApplePay, ShopPay, GooglePay and PayPal.

I just made an order. Can I change it or cancel it?

Write an email to hello@artknit-studios.com with your order number to cancel or edit it.

If your order has already been processed, unfortunately, you will have to return it after the delivery by filling out this form.

Shipping

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, we ship worldwide with the exception of those countries with government trade restrictions or sanctions.

What is your shipping policy?

Shipping times and costs can vary according to the item you are purchasing, where you want to have it shipped and the shipping method you select.

If you are in UE, shipping is free for orders above 250€.

Ready to Ship items usually take 2 to 4 business days to be delivered, while Made to Order items can take up to 14 days since they're crafted after placing the order. Please note that personalized products with your initials will take one day more to be delivered.

Can I track the status of my shipment?

Yes, as soon as your package leaves our warehouse, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email with the parcel's tracking number that allows you to follow the shipment.

Please note that the courier takes up to 1-2 business days to register your shipment status.

What is your packaging made of?

Our packaging is completely plastic-free: you'll receive your item in a recycled cardboard box wrapped in a biodegradable envelope.

I want to make a gift. Can I receive it already wrapped?

Yes, of course, we have a special gift box to make your loved ones happy.

It costs 5.90€ and you can select it on your cart page.

Can I change the shipping address?

Write an email to hello@artknit-studios.com as soon as you can, including your order number and the new shipping address.

Please note that if your order has already been processed, we won't be able to change the shipping address.

What can I do if my order hasn't been delivered or its shipment status is blocked?

After two unsuccessful delivery attempts, your package will be available at a pick-up point.

In case you haven't received any instructions on where to find it, write us an email at hello@artknit-studios.com or on Whatsapp +39 388 15 38 477 with your order number.

I received a damaged parcel, what can I do?

If your parcel is damaged, you can write an email to hello@artknit-studios.com or a message on WhatsApp at +39 388 15 38 477.

We kindly ask you to send us a picture of your package to help us understand better and find a solution.

Can I pick-up my order or shop in your Biella showroom?

We encourage you to proceed online and have your item shipped to your home. If you want to visit us, write an email before placing your order to hello@artknit-studios.com

Returns & refunds

Can I return an item?

Yes, you can return an item within 14 days after you receive it by filling out this form.

You'll then receive a confirmation email with the instructions to proceed, and if you are in UE returns are free.

We accept returns on any item - except the personalized products with your initials - as long as it's in the same condition you received it: with the label attached and in the original package.

How long does it take to get a refund?

If your item complies to our return policy, you'll receive an email as soon as we receive the parcel and it will take up to 7 days to get refunded on your original payment method.

Which payment methods do you accept in store?

We accept cash, Credit or Debit Cards, Apple Pay and Paypal.

Do you offer some special in-store services only?

Yes, in our store in Milan you can find our physical gift card to gift any of your loved ones, you can get a customized accessory with your initials or you can create a custom-made garment with the help of our experts. Please note that the made to measure service is available from Monday to Friday only.

Can I return or exchange a piece ordered online at the store?

Yes, you can return and exchange the pieces you’ve ordered online or purchased in-store if they meet our return policy standards. If the piece is not available in-store, we can send it directly to your home. Please read the full Return Policy and the Refund Policy for more information.

Will you hold in-store events?

Yes, we’re planning some special events for our community! You can subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated.

What is your knitwear made of?

We said no to synthetic fibers. We use certified natural fibers like wool, cotton and linen that are traced, cruelty-free and have a lower impact.

Buying knitwear made of natural materials is better for you and for the environment because it's long-lasting and, at the end of its lifecycle, it's 100% recyclable.

Who makes your knitwear and where?

Each item has its story. You can discover it by reading the transparency report on every product page, that traces the item's journey from raw materials, up to its packaging.

Every one of our pieces is made by Italian expert makers and inside the box you'll find the name of the person that made your item and the city of its workshop.

How can I find the right fit?

You can find a size guide on every product page, with accurate measures and a table to convert international sizes.

You can also click or tap on "Not sure about your size" and answer a few questions to find the perfect fit.

What does "Made to order" mean?

Made to order items are available on request. You can provide your height, weight and age to get a perfect fit.

This allows us to minimize waste and to produce only the quantities needed. Please note that made to order items take up to 14 business days to be delivered.

What does "Ready to ship" mean?

Ready to Ship items are already available in our warehouse, so they will only take 2 to 4 days on average to be delivered.

Do you participate in seasonal sales?

No, we decided not to participate in seasonal sales because we keep fair prices all year long.

By avoiding all intermediaries, at Artknit we’re able to offer accessible prices for superior-quality products, while guaranteeing our makers fair working conditions.

We design pieces that don’t follow trends and are made to last for many years, so no urge to push them out before the season is over.

So, we invite you to shop responsibly and choose the items that you will actually use for a long time.

What about your makers' working conditions? Do you have a Code of Conduct?

Our supply chain is transparent, traced and ethical: we get our makers to sign a Code of Conduct to guarantee fair working conditions.

Does your knitwear have any certifications?

Yes, you can find out more about the certifications of each product in its Transparency Report on its product page.

How can I learn more about the environmental impact of your knitwear?

You can discover an item's environmental impact in its transparency report, at the bottom of each product page.

Find out about the quantity of CO2, water and substances dissolved in the water needed for its production.

Are your animal-based materials cruelty-free?

Our animal-based materials like wool and cashmere are certified. We use mulesing free wool and our cashmere comes from farmers who comply with high ethical standards.

When will an out-of-stock item become available again?

We try not to produce more than necessary, so that the planet can thank us.

You can click or tap on "Notify when available" and leave your email address to receive a notification when the item you want will be back in stock.

Some items won't become available again since we work every day to improve our selection, so if you want to know if your item will be back you can write us an email at hello@artknit-studios.com

How do you determine your prices?

Our supply chain is short and without intermediaries, that's why we can offer you high-quality knitwear with prices that are up to 8 times lower than traditional brands.

Care and repair

How can I take care of my knitwear?

You can read our Care Guide to find all the information needed about washing, drying and ironing and the suggested products to take care of your knitwear.

We encourage you to take care of your items because we want to make them last as long as possible, in order to reduce their environmental impact.

How can I wash my knitwear?

Before washing, make sure to turn the piece inside out to prevent ruining and pre-treat it with a stain remover, in case it’s stained.


We suggest you to wash your knitted piece by hand at a maximum temperature of 40°, for no longer than 10 minutes. Do not use the spin dryer, to prevent shrinkage.
Use a mild detergent (Ph 8+) or a cashmere and wool detergent to maintain its softness and shape.

Do you offer a repair service?

Yes, we introduced The Repair Program to extend the lifecycle of your pieces, a repairing and reconditioning service offered by our expert makers.

If the issue is small and you feel confident enough, you can also repair it yourself with the help of our repair kit and our easy video tutorials.

Where can I find The Do-It-Yourself Repair Kit?

The Do-It-Yourself Repair Kit is a small box that we’ll be delivered to your home with everything you need to fix the minor issues that your Artknit piece may encounter.

It’s perfect for pulled threads, unstitched labels and buttons, small holes and pilling.

My knitwear has lost its shape or shrunk, what can I do?

We offer a reconditioning service carried out by our expert makers that can make your pieces go back to their original shape.

Our services

Can I order a customized piece based on my measurements?

Yes, we have our selection of Made to Order pieces that our artisans can make just for you. Enter your age, weight and height to receive your perfect garment within about 14 days.



In addition, a measurement-taking service is available exclusively in our store, available from Monday to Friday. You can choose from a limited selection of available styles and our trained staff will take your measurements, and send them to our artisans who will craft a piece with the perfect fit.

Can I book an online appointment with you?

Sure, you can book a private videocall with our team if you need support on choosing the size and shopping online or receive a styling or gift suggestion.

Do you offer a repair service?

The Imperfect Selection

What is the Imperfect Selection?

The Imperfect Selection is a limited selection - available online only - of our reconditioned, archive and sample pieces at a more accessible price.

To reduce even more our environmental impact, we decided to make available versions that are no longer online, pieces that may have some manufacturing defects or be slightly worn, but that are still fully functional and ready to be worn.

This selection will be constantly updated in order to give our pieces the long life they deserve.

Why choosing a piece from the Imperfect Selection is more sustainable?

Selecting a piece from the Imperfect selection is more sustainable that buying a new one because it prolongs its lifespan and it allows to reduce the environmental impact of a piece up to 95%, byapassing the production phase.

Can I return a piece from the Imperfect Selection?

Yes, you can return an item within 14 days after you receive it by filling out this form.

You'll then receive a confirmation email with the instructions to proceed, and if you are in UE returns are free.
